Vivo Unveils Exciting New Trademarks: Get Ready for the Vivo S Flip and V Flip!

Vivo S Flip and V Flip monikers Emerges in Trademarks

Vivo is planning to release two new clamshell smartphones worldwide.

Vivo is getting ready to launch two clamshell smartphones around the globe, with the expectation that they will compete in the mid-range smartphone market.

These clamshell cellphones could make their formal appearance in 2024.

The Vivo X Fold 2 and Vivo X Flip, two foldable smartphones from Vivo, were first released in China in April 2023 and immediately caused a stir in the smartphone industry. With the latter, Vivo made its debut in the clamshell smartphone market. It is noteworthy that OPPO, Vivo’s parent company, entered the clamshell smartphone trend by releasing its own clamshell product with the second generation of its foldable smartphone. The Vivo S Flip and Vivo V Flip are two new clamshell smartphones that Vivo will soon release, boosting its line-up in this market.

Vivo’s trademark applications revealed the names of these forthcoming clamshell smartphones. The European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) received these trademark filings. The Vivo S Flip and Vivo V Flip are rumored to be mid-range clamshell smartphones that aim to find a compromise between affordability and usefulness, while specifics are still lacking.

On September 22, Vivo formally submitted these trademark applications on the EUIPO website. Trademark opposition can be made up until December 2023. These mid-range clamshell cellphones are scheduled to go on sale in the early 2024 timeframe. The Moto Razr 40 and other newly released items are anticipated to compete with these gadgets, despite the fact that the trademark registrations do not specifically mention any features or specs of the cellphones.

It’s interesting to note that, following the release of the Samsung Galaxy Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6, a prior rumor suggested that Samsung also had ambitions to enter the mid-range foldable and clamshell smartphone market. The expansion of Samsung’s Galaxy FE (Fan Edition) line is part of the company’s plan. The Galaxy Tab S9 FE series, Galaxy S23 FE, and Galaxy Buds FE will all be unveiled at a future Samsung event in October.

Recall that the Vivo X Flip has a 6.74-inch AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, 1920Hz high-frequency PWM dimming, and a punch-hole camera positioned in the middle of the screen. The smartphone also has a 3-inch AMOLED cover display from Vivo that offers a variety of functions and has a resolution of 682 x 422 pixels, a 60Hz refresh rate, with curved edges.

Vivo further emphasized the strength of the product, noting that the Vivo X Flip has been certified by TUV Rhineland for withstanding 500,000 folds. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC, constructed on a 4nm technology, is found within the smartphone and is also present in a number of other models. This chipset can support 512GB of storage and up to 12GB of RAM.

The smartphone, which runs Origin OS 3 and is based on Android 13, has two rear cameras housed inside a circular camera module. These cameras have a secondary 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens with an f/2.2 aperture in addition to a 50MP Sony IMX 866 sensor with an f/1.8 aperture and OIS. The 32MP front camera located in the punch-hole may be trusted by selfie fans. The smartphone’s 4400mAh battery uses 44W rapid charging technology to power the device.
