Specifications on the Samsung Galaxy S24’s ultra-telephoto and periscope lenses are revealed.
The introduction of Samsung’s flagship smartphones, which is anticipated to occur in early 2024, is currently under preparation. There have been various leaks and rumors around the new flagship series, which includes the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24. The advancement in camera optics was one of the things that was most anxiously anticipated.
The telephoto and periscope lens specifications for the forthcoming Samsung flagship smartphone have been revealed by well-known tipster Ice Universe. It’s interesting that the tipster believes people would opt for the freshly announced iPhone 15 series rather than waiting for the Galaxy S24 series.
At a recent presentation, Apple announced the iPhone 15 series, including the iPhone 15 Pro Max, which made a notable advancement by introducing a periscope lens with 5x optical magnification. Many fans of mobile devices had high expectations for the incoming Galaxy S24 Ultra, hoping it will outperform the Galaxy S23 Ultra in terms of telephoto lenses.
Ice Universe’s data, however, indicates that Samsung might fall short of those lofty goals. According to the source, the Galaxy S24 Ultra will include two cameras: a 50MP periscope lens with 5x optical zoom and a 10MP conventional telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. The periscope lens will have a sensor size of 0.7 m and an optical format of 1/2.52″.
Ice Universe continues by contrasting these attributes with those of the just-released Xiaomi 13 Ultra smartphone, which has two 50MP sensors, an optical format of 1/2.52″, a sensor size of 0.7 m for its telephoto and periscope lenses, and the ability to optically zoom in at 3x and 5x. The contrast makes Ice Universe unhappy.
As Samsung recently announced the availability of an improved 200MP sensor on its website, recent rumours have suggested that Samsung will include an upgraded 200MP primary lens with the next smartphone. Exynos chipsets may be used by Samsung to reduce costs, according to earlier disclosures.
The most recent reports, however, suggest that Samsung will use the TSMC foundry’s Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Made for Galaxy SoC. The Galaxy S24 Ultra could have up to 16GB of RAM and 2TB of storage, according to “Tech Reve,” another tipster. Although the gadget has acquired 3C certification, no new developments in the area of rapid charging have been made public.
