Vivo X100 Series, Featuring MediaTek Dimensity 9300, May Challenge iPhone 15 Pro in Performance

Highlights

– Vivo is preparing to launch the new X100 smartphone series, rumored to outperform Apple’s A17 Pro.
– The X100 and X100 Pro are expected to debut in November and will be powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 9300.
– MediaTek’s Dimensity 9300 is anticipated to be MediaTek’s most potent 5G chipset and is set to be introduced in October.

Reports suggest that Vivo is on the verge of introducing its latest X100 smartphone series, featuring chipsets that could potentially surpass Apple’s A17 Pro in performance. Scheduled for a rumored November release, both the Vivo X100 and X100 Pro will be equipped with MediaTek’s Dimensity 9300 chipset.

According to information from tipster Digital Chat Station, as reported by GizmoChina, the Dimensity 9300 will represent MediaTek’s most robust 5G chipset to date. Furthermore, the chipset is expected to launch in October, just ahead of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Summit, where Qualcomm is likely to unveil its next-generation Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset.

Significant Performance Boost Anticipated for MediaTek Dimensity 9300

The Dimensity 9300 is poised to offer remarkable performance enhancements. It boasts an octa-core configuration complemented by the Immortalis G720 GPU, which positions it as a potential rival to Apple’s A17 Pro. Manufactured using the next-generation N4P process, this chipset is expected to enhance performance efficiency significantly. Its octa-core architecture will feature four Cortex-X4 and four Cortex-A720 cores, delivering a 15% boost in performance and a 40% reduction in power consumption.

In contrast, Apple’s A17 Pro, developed by Apple itself, incorporates a six-core CPU paired with a six-core GPU for graphics processing. It is produced using TSMC’s cutting-edge 3-nanometer technology, which is currently regarded as the most advanced semiconductor technology in the industry. This chipset powers the latest Apple iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max models.

It’s important to note that this latest leak should be taken with caution as Vivo has yet to officially confirm any details about its upcoming smartphone series. While Vivo Global President Shen Wei mentioned that the phones would launch in China by the end of 2023, he did not provide a specific date. Alongside the X100 and X100 Pro, Vivo’s new smartphone lineup is also expected to include the X100 Pro+, which Wei stated would be unveiled later.

Vivo X100 Series: Known Specifications

Previous leaks have revealed key specifications for the X100 Pro+. This smartphone is expected to feature a large OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a 50MP ultra-wide rear camera paired with a 200MP periscope lens, an Ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, and more.

Meanwhile, the Vivo X100 and X100 Pro are anticipated to deliver enhanced camera performance, thanks to an independent V3 ISP built on a 6nm process. Other expected features include an OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 1.5K resolution, as well as the noteworthy MediaTek Dimensity 9300 chipset. Additional rumored features encompass a 5,000mAh battery with 100W fast charging support, a 32MP front camera, up to 24GB of RAM, and 1TB of storage.
