According to reports, Apple will release its Magic Mouse, Trackpad, and Keyboard with USB-C next month.
According to reports, Apple is getting ready to release new models of its well-known Magic peripherals, including the Magic Mouse, Magic Trackpad, and Magic Keyboard, that have the USB Type-C connection. Although Apple presently uses the older Lightning connector for these products, Mark Gurman of Bloomberg reports that the company may soon move to USB-C.
Gurman stated that Apple intends to release these USB-C Magic accessories in October, along with the release of a new iMac, in his weekly newsletter, “Power On.” With its iPhone 15 line, which consists of the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max, Apple has already accepted USB-C.
Transition to USB-C by Apple
According to Gurman, Apple’s 2023 product range should be viewed as a transitional stage before more significant changes, like as a wider adoption of USB-C across its devices, are made in the following year. The new USB-C Magic Mouse, Magic Trackpad, and Magic Keyboard will make their debuts alongside the iMac in October 2023, claims the knowledgeable analyst. Also according to Gurman, Apple will introduce normal AirPods with a USB-C charging case in 2023, building on the second-generation AirPods Pro that already has USB-C.
Although he did not provide a release date for the AirPods Max 2, Gurman predicts that the following-generation AirPods Max would also feature USB Type-C for charging. The MagSafe Battery Pack and MagSafe Duo Charger, both of which this time around include USB-C connectors, are also expected to make a comeback, according to the newsletter. Apple appears dedicated to converting its entire product inventory, including accessories, to the USB-C standard with the release of the iPhone 15 series.
Gurman’s email provided information on additional Apple advancements in addition to the switch to USB-C accessories. He projects that the eagerly awaited Apple Watch Series X, celebrating the company’s 10th anniversary, will go on sale in 2024 or 2025. Blood pressure monitoring technology, AI-powered health coaching, and other health features are all anticipated for the upcoming Apple Watch.
Additionally, Gurman foresees an updated Magic Keyboard and an iPhone Pro with an OLED display and improved accessories. Other predictions include the introduction of Apple GPT in 2024, the usage of 3nm M3 processors in new MacBooks and Macs, and larger iPhone 16 displays. This holiday season, Apple looks set to top its remarkable $117.2 billion revenue from the prior season.
